Civ 5 Tier List Guide – Best Civilization 5 Civs & Leaders
In our tier list, we have arranged each civilization into categories named after the game’s difficulties. The list is arranged from the best Civs to the ones that are the worst.
Deity Tier Civilizations
Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar II) Poland (Casimir III) Korea (Sejong) Mayans (Pascal) Arabia (Harun al-Rashid) Persia (Darius I)
The best Civs are in the Deity category they basically have the best of all abilities. They are pretty much talented in every aspect and are the best choice. Almost all Civs in this tier are equally versatile and are best to be used when you have just started to get the hang of the game.
Immortal Tier Civilizations
The Inca (Pachacuti) The Zulu (Shaka) The Huns (Atilla) Greece (Alexander) England (Elizabeth) Songhai (Askia) America (Washington)
Immortal Tier Civilizations are similar to that of Deity tiers. They are also strong and advantageous. But they are not very powerful since the beginning but are best at learning and becoming good leaders.
Emperor Tier Civilizations
Mongolia (Genghis Khan) Germany (Bismarck) Sweden (Gustavus Adolphus) China (Wu Zetian)
The ones in this tier are pretty average and are good in their particular niches. IF you are looking looking for a fair fight against AI. Domination these turn out to be the ideal choices.
King Tier Civilizations
Spain (Isabella) The Aztecs (Montezuma) Brazil (Pedro II) Russia (Catherine) The Shoshone (Pocatello) Denmark (Harald Bluetooth) Egypt (Ramesses II) Siam (Ramkhamhaeng) Polynesia (Kamehameha)
You will find most of the Civ 5 leaders in the King tier list. They are not good as once mentioned in the above tiers but they fair quite well. IF you aim to look for science victory then good choices in this tier are Spain and Russia for domination.
Prince Tier Civilizations
The Netherlands (William) The Celts (Boudicca) Ethiopia (Haile Selassie) Japan (Oda Nobunaga)
The Prince tier list focuses mainly on what they specialize in. Each of them has its own specialized skills and is great at fairing in them.
Warlord Tier Civilizations
Morocco (Ahmad al-Mansur) Rome (Augustus Caesar) The Ottomans (Suleiman) Austria (Maria Theresa) Assyria (Ashurbanipal)
Well to be honest the tier below this is not worth even considering. Most of the rewards of bonuses do not even have any use. For example, Assyria gains free technology when they conquer a city, but if you’re already conquering other cities then this bonus is as good as not to be given.
Chieftain Tier Civilizations
India (Gandhi) Byzantium (Theodora) Iroquois (Hiawatha) Venice (Enrico Dandolo)
This tier list may not be the worst but are pretty close. To put it simply they can be of very little use and do have much huge impact. Some of the names mentioned above won’t even be able to do the most simple and easy tasks to gain victory.
Settler Tier Civilizations
Indonesia (Gajah Mada) France (Napoleon) Portugal (Maria I) Carthage (Dido)
Settle tier l is basically the worst and it has no value in gaining victory. If you wanna go crazy and just give them a shot then sure go ahead with them. But keep in mind the victories gain are gonna be hella difficult to obtain. With this comes the end of Civ 5 Tier List hope you guys can make good use of them.
